Ivy Shum, President of HKAVRAR
Ms. Ivy Shum is the Founder of Evory Media Limited, Co-Founder of Studio-R Co. Ltd., Chapter President, and Co-lead Asia Pacific Communities of Practice of VRARA, and the President of the Hong Kong Association for VR AR that just the newly formed end of 2021.
Ivy received her B.A. in Graphic Design and minor in Animation, Illustration in Silicon Valley, and an MSc in Multimedia Entertainment Technology at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has been active in the Hong Kong entrepreneurial ecosystem since 2011. She was the event organizer and main coordinator of TEDxHongKong and Development Manager of SME Creativity Center in enabling local and overseas SMEs to explore creativity, ideation, and innovation.
Matias Koski, General Manager, Global Sales
Immersal
Mr. Koski is heading global sales at Immersal, part of Hexagon, and accelerating AR and Metaverse transformation across the world. The transformation is enabled by using Immersal’s high technology, combined with other cutting edge technologies like 5G mobile networks, cloud computing and private networks.
Matias has studied Materials Science and Industrial Engineering at the Aalto University, Finland. Before joining Immersal, he worked for Nokia and Microsoft for more than 10 years.
Chung Ng, Senior Vice President, Technology, Strategy & Development
PCCW – Hong Kong Telecom
Dr. Chung is a SVP at Group CTO Office of the HKT/PCCW Group, where he’s responsible for leading the group’s product and technology roadmap and strategic development. He also represents the group as board members of Lynx Analytics and Bindo Labs.
Before HKT/PCCW, Chung contributed to the Big Data/AI strategy at Telstra as well as its international growth strategy. Prior to Telstra, Chung was an Associate Partner of Cluster Technology Limited which serves the Greater China market with professional services and solutions in high-performance computing, machine learning, big data, and public cloud.
In 2008, Chung joined McKinsey & Company in the Hong Kong office. He received his DPhil in Information Engineering from the University of Oxford and held the Croucher Foundation Scholarship to work toward his research degree in wireless ad-hoc networks. Chung also received BEng and MPhil in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Kelvin Cheng, R&D Group Manager, Business Solution Planning Department, 5G Division
Rakuten Mobile, Inc.
At Rakuten Mobile, Dr. Cheng is heading the R&D Group, strategizing the use of XR, metaverse and other cutting edge technologies to imagine future immersive experiences together with the use of 5G mobile network, creating new business values, and enhancing user journeys for consumers. He graduated with a PhD in computer science from The University of Sydney in 2009. He is also a Visiting Researcher at Tsukuba University and Waseda University.
